Avery, the founder of ARC English, is a graduate of McGill University and a former Team Canada basketball player. Having grown up in the English-speaking regions of Canada, Avery experienced firsthand the challenges of learning a second language when he moved to French-speaking Quebec. Struggling to learn French as an adult gave him deep empathy for language learners — and inspired his passion to help others avoid the frustrations he went through.

With over 10 years of experience coaching English learners, Avery has worked with students from all over the world and has developed a clear understanding of what works and what doesn’t when it comes to reaching English fluency. Half Canadian and half Barbadian, Avery brings both academic excellence and cultural diversity into his coaching approach, combining structure and strategy with energy and motivation. His unique perspective and proven methods help students accelerate their progress, build real-world speaking skills, and achieve their English language goals faster than they ever imagined.
